Activities of the Society
Gibson-Mack-Holt House Tours -  Society volunteers are available to conduct tours of the Gibson-Mack-Holt House during regular Society hours every Tuesday and Saturday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.   For directions click here

The Historical Reference Library -  Established in 1994, the archives of the Bay Shore Historical Society include maps, photographs, yearbooks, journals, ledgers, books by Bay Shore authors, albums of "Treasured Memories", artifacts and memorabilia pertaining to Bay Shore.  The Library is open for reference on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. .  For more information about the Library, click here

Historical Exhibits - Both permanent and changing historical are at the Society and in the community.  Over 100 vintage photographs are displayed throughout the Society's House.

Educational Programs - Throughout the year, the Bay Shore Historical Society sponsors educational programs of historic significance.  Programs are held on the third Thursday of every month at 7:30 p.m. at the Bay Shore-Brightwaters Public Library.  Programs are open to the public.  Click here for upcoming programs

Negatives of Babies - born at Southside Hospital between 1956 and 1968 are available at no charge at the Society.  Click here for details

Annual Installation of Officers and Trustees - takes place at the July Dinner-on-the-Bay.  Members and their guests are welcome.

Annual Holiday Pot Luck Supper - is enjoyed in December for members and their guests.

St. Patrick's Day Parade and Memorial Day Parade participation - are annual spring events.

Displays at the Annual Festival by the Bay on Main Street each June - are prepared by members of the Society.

Annual Snowflake Sale - the first Saturday in December is the sale of holiday items as well as a special visit from Victorian St. Nicholas.  Bring a camera for a photograph with St. Nicholas at no charge.
